Increased productivity with Account Level Workspaces

By
Ryan Fee

The introduction of account-level workspaces increases your productivity by providing a new simple way to view and manage workspaces across your account. View all of the workspaces that you have access to in a single dashboard at the account scope reducing the need to jump around from environment to environment. Previously, you would have to search across environments and then find the workspaces. Why is this important?

  • Efficiency: You’re reducing the amount of time wasted searching for workspaces.
  • Cleanup: That old workspace that was used once and forgotten about can be easily found and have a run executed on it to detect drift, or just delete it.
  • Safety: Easily find all workspaces that do not have deletion protection enabled to avoid resources being destroyed accidentally.

The new view gives the ability to filter by environment, status, date, or tag to quickly find the workspace:

You may have hundreds of environments and thousands of workspaces, which is why this new view is crucial to be able to effectively manage your workspaces. Click on any workspace to be redirected to that workspace to manage it. The traditional method of managing workspaces within environments still exists, this just introduces added flexibility. Get started using them in Scalr today!

Note: While this blog references Terraform, everything mentioned in here also applies to OpenTofu. New to OpenTofu? It is a fork of Terraform 1.5.7 as a result of the license change from MPL to BUSL by HashiCorp. OpenTofu is an open-source alternative to Terraform that is governed by the Linux Foundation. All features available in Terraform 1.5.7 or earlier are also available in OpenTofu. Find out the history of OpenTofu here.

Don't take our word for it, try it for yourself.
